Ski Tours
Ski mountaineering and backcountry skiing may be well established globally, but in the Indian Himalaya they remain largely unexplored, with only a small community of skiers and even fewer experienced guides. Over the past few decade, we’ve been consistently exploring these mountains on skis—understanding terrain, snow patterns, and access across different regions. Our ski journeys are built around this experience, offering access to some of the most rewarding backcountry terrain in the Indian Himalaya, guided by people who know these zones intimately. Each expedition is designed to maximise time on skis—moving efficiently, adapting to conditions, and choosing the right lines each day. We work with small teams and also offer private ski trips for those looking for a more personalised approach.
Backcountry & SkiMo in India
Guided ski touring and ski mountaineering in India aren’t new—but they’ve always been done by a very small group of people. For years, a handful of skiers, climbers, and mountain professionals have been quietly exploring these mountains on skis, without much structure or visibility.
Unlike the Alps or other established regions, there are no marked routes, managed zones, or predictable systems here. You’re dealing with real terrain—big distances, glaciated landscapes, and changing conditions that need to be read every day. Most ski journeys in India still follow an expedition approach: no fixed lines, no guaranteed descents. Glacier travel, route finding, and adapting to weather and snowpack are all part of the process. Logistics—getting in, acclimatising, moving efficiently—matter as much as the skiing itself.
That’s also what makes it interesting. There are still areas where very few people have skied, where lines aren’t named, and where each trip involves figuring things out as you go. It’s not crowded, not overdone, and not always straightforward—but that’s exactly why people come here.
Things are slowly changing. Access is improving in some regions, and more skiers are starting to look at India differently. But for now, it remains a place for those who are comfortable with a bit of uncertainty, and who value the experience of exploring mountains on skis rather than just skiing them.
