Zanskar | Ladakh
Alpine Rock Climbing | Mountaineering

Backpacking Trip
Also known as the lost kingdom of Zanskar, one of the few places on earth which are fairly untouched by modernization. Zanskar literally means the Copper Star. In fact, the various rivers flowing into Zanskar carry copper sediments. The spectacular Himalayan landscape and the lifestyles of the inhabitants define the raw beauty of the hidden kingdom of Zanskar. Today Zanskar is one of the least interfered with microcosms of Ladakh and one of the last surviving cultural settlers of Tibet. Put simply, systems such as polyandry, which are more or less extinct in Leh town and in the more advanced villages of Leh district, still survive in some pockets of Zanskar.
In the previous age of exploration, many climbers have stepped into the region and climbed multiple fascinating and hard peaks. But since then Zanskar has become all about Chadar Trek & Nun Kun. Which somehow has overlapped the potential that region has to offer. In recent years, a Local gym called Gravi-T did the phenomenal job of starting the Suru Valley bouldering fest, which has gain worldwide fame and more than that it has encouraged the younger generation to look beyond the famous spots and start exploring sustainably. It is a great introduction to what Adventure in Zanskar is all about.
It is not only a remoteness and old ways of living or the breathtaking landscapes that have attracted us but its Huge Alpine, unclimbed rocky peaks with a stunning view that caught our interest. Its all started when one of our close friend cum Pahadi Bakra’s Guide, who belongs to the region invited us during the pre-winters. Unfortunately, we couldn’t made it that year due to Pandemic Restrictions. Thus the project is still in the planning phase, hopefully, we would be visiting the region soon and come out with some of the best Expeditions & exploration we have ever been to. Stay tuned to know more!!
